A 5-Part Series

In this 5-week web seminar we will explore how to create healthier levels of connection, aliveness & joy. By deepening our knowledge of trauma, and how trauma affects us, we can significantly enhance our lives and relationships. Each week I will discuss different aspects of trauma, with psychobiological, neuroscientific & spiritual perspectives. A weekly somatic practice will also be offered that will assist in self-regulation, somatic awareness, and an expanding capacity for emotion.

Dr Julie Yau is an expert in the field of healing trauma. She specializes in the resolution of developmental, complex, and shock trauma. She holds a PhD in somatic depth psychology, and Masters in both spiritual psychology and depth psychology. Dr. Julie is  trained in a number of body/mind modalities including somatic experiencing and NARM. She is a trained dream pattern analyst and was a yoga and and meditation teacher. Using a unified approach, Julie’s work and teaching addresses the challenging physiological and psychological symptoms of trauma. Dr Julie has also been the director of education and program development at CCALS since 2002. Julie Brown Yau

Julie Brown Yau, Ph.D. has a 33-year background in psychological, somatic, and spiritual traditions, providing a unique depth of knowledge and experience. Julie specializes in the resolution of developmental trauma, also intergenerational, and acute trauma. She is an author and speaker, with a passion for helping individuals and groups establish well-being that provides positive qualities of agency, a heart-centered capacity for compassion, presence, and their sense of wholeness. 

Julie was also the director of education and program development at CCALS for 15 years, currently the trauma and spiritual care consultant. Julie has taught and lectured in hospitals, universities, and the UCI center for Integrative Medicine; she continues to lecture and write on the topics of trauma and spirituality. She is an authorized teacher of Shri Vidya, where she combines the resolution of trauma with specific spiritual practice. Julie has a private practice in Laguna Beach CA.
