In this 5-week web seminar we will explore how to create healthier levels of connection, aliveness & joy. By deepening our knowledge of trauma, and how trauma affects us, we can significantly enhance our lives and relationships. Each week I will discuss different aspects of trauma, with psychobiological, neuroscientific & spiritual perspectives. A weekly somatic practice will also be offered that will assist in self-regulation, somatic awareness, and an expanding capacity for emotion.

Julie Brown Yau

Julie Brown Yau, Ph.D., is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a certified NARM practitioner, and a dream pattern analyst. Using a unified approach for addressing developmental and shock trauma, Julie’s work includes the latest neuroscientific findings, the imaginal realm and Eastern wisdom. Julie has a private practice in Laguna Beach CA. She also works on Skype/Facetime with individuals across the globe.

Julie’s diverse 30-year background in spiritual, psychological and somatic traditions provides her with a unique depth of knowledge and experience. Julie’s dedicated spiritual practice and experience has embedded a deep passion for resolving trauma, cultivating compassion, and awakening in our fast-paced lives. She feels that through healing trauma, a profound sense of aliveness and vibrancy, as well as a personal sense of empowerment and coherence emerge in the body–mind. Both the individual psyche and the anima mundi (causal realm), are reenergized. This healing establishes in the individual a level of well-being that provides positive qualities of agency, a heart-centered capacity for presence and a sense of wholeness.

Julie also supports those who are actively dying to awaken to the multilevel cosmos. She assists both her students and patients to open to deeper dimensions within the body/mind and the living universe to experience authentic vibrancy and joy. Julie was the director of education and program development at CCALS for 15 years; she coordinated closely with hospital staff, caregivers and chronically ill patients. Julie has taught and lectured in hospitals, schools, and the UCI center for Integrative Medicine; she continues to lecture and write on the topics of trauma and spirituality; she is currently writing a book on the effects of early trauma and the psyche.
