Join Dr. Bruce Damer for a “Story Salon” taking you on magickal journeys through the heart and mind. We will begin at the very root of our humanness as tiny prosimian insectivores surviving the burning of the rainforest and co-evolving into awareness with the ever-present serpent. Then we’ll join the first group of modern humans as an exceptional mutant Mitochondrial Eve, emerges to become the mother of us all, shaping our future with dramatic consequences. Next we will follow Dr. Bruce’s own journey taking on the mystery of our collective origins… life on Earth itself and seeking its pathway forward into the Universe. We will finish our journey with a remarkable discovery: that we are living inside an “Engine of Emergence” which constantly brings improbable events into actuality, giving us a compelling new understanding of reality and powerful tools to survive and thrive.

The Emergence Series is a constellation of conversations with SAND speakers and teachers, intended as an exploration of the emergence palpable in the collective field at this time and an opportunity to connect with others in our community holding a ‘large vision’ and dedicated to the evolution of consciousness on the planet.

Old structures are being shaken up, old stories have come to their limits, old systems are failing us. What is emerging, where do we go from here, how do we hold it all in the tenderness of the awakening heart? What wisdom do the worlds great lineages and traditions have for us and what does the meeting of science and nonduality contribute to the emergent conversation? How does a mystic respond to a world in crisis?

Through the magic of technology, the Emergence Series is open to the participation of the entire global SAND community, LIVE! There will be opportunities to have personal interaction and ask questions of our guests. Our intention with this online series is to foster conversation, connection and community in between conferences and to offer windows of contact, wisdom and heart.

We invite our teachers to engage us from a perspective of embodied, living wisdom, and offer practical guidance that can support us in our relationships, our work, our community and our world at this time.

The Emergence Series is facilitated by Vera de Chalambert, a fellow SAND speaker, and Zaya Benazzo co-founder of Science and Nonduality.

Presenter

Bruce Damer

Multi-disciplinary scientist Dr. Bruce Damer has devoted decades to the deep exploration of two fundamental questions of life: how the first living cells originated on the Earth four billion years ago; and how their progeny, the biosphere with its precious cargo of humans and other complex life forms, may be provided a path forward into the cosmos. Collaborating with Prof. David Deamer at UC Santa Cruz, the two published the “Hot Spring Hypothesis” of life’s origins which is now undergoing testing by scientific teams worldwide. After simulating and designing numerous space missions for NASA he co-developed SHEPHERD, a unique spacecraft that could harvest resources from asteroids and enable the expansion of civilization into the Solar System. In a surprising new result, theoretical and laboratory work on the origin of life has uncovered a simple, conceptual “engine” which may explain how all of biology, technology and human experience is created. Dr. Damer is now collaborating with a network of scholars, spiritual teachers and cultural investigators to consider how this engine might transform our understanding of reality and what it is to be human. Dr. Damer’s work at UCSC, The Biota Institute, NASA and his personal passions such as the Levity Zone Podcast and DigiBarn Computer Museum may be found at http://www.damer.com
