The New Model of Recovery, developed by Scott Kiloby and his team of facilitators, is rooted in a fundamental understanding of the connection between trauma and addiction. During this seminar, Scott will discuss his trauma rst approach to healing, situated within the context of his nondual teachings. In the New Model of Recovery, the abstinence focus is replaced with facilitation toward allowing a ‘Somatic No’. This is accomplished through mindfulness and inquiry tools that help to dissolve the trauma, shame, and deciency stories that drive suffering.

In this seminar, Scott will share some of the tools he has developed at the Kiloby Center that are now helping individuals with vastly different backgrounds and experiences, from all over the world, facilitate a true experience of freedom. The Kiloby Center is focused on a powerful, nontraditional path to healing trauma, addiction, and mental suffering. Implementing these tools into such an environment has brought a new perspective to the conversation, because they can ultimately serve to facilitate a spiritual awakening. And this context creates a whole new picture of what this ancient phenomenon, this process of awakening, looks like in the unique place we now occupy in history.

Module 4: Awakening and Embodiment

Aug 3, 2019 10:00am - 11:30am

It is extremely rare for an individual to have an awakening experience and free themselves completely of the conditioning that creates suffering and addiction. Most people have to engage in some practice. Embodiment is not just some concept. Without it, we can't be truly free from suffering because every thought that makes us suffer has some connection in the body. In this seminar, find out how to be more skillful in your practice. If you are sitting around waiting for the magic moment to come so that you are totally free, you may be prolonging your suffering. And even if that magic moment comes, you may be surprised to find the additional layers of suffering that arise after that experience. In this seminar we will discuss and experience a strong and effective practice for honoring what is present in the body.
