Paul SmitAuthor

SAND14_Paul-SmitWho is Paul Smit? There is actually no Paul Smit! However, there is consciousness and within this consciousness, a body / mind system called Paul Smit arises. In this game called ‘life’ this appearance Paul Smit plays its role. As a teenager he had a love for philosophy and in 1999 he graduated with an essay about ‘the evolution of the human consciousness.’ He realized that our free will is an illusion. When nonduality came on its path, it became clear to him that one thing was overlooked. Namely, that our individuality is also imaginary! This insight led to a profound sense of liberation.

About nonduality he wrote the books Het Kosmisch Plan (the Cosmic Plan), De zoektocht naar Tao (The Search for Tao), De 10 flirtgeboden (The 10 Flirt Commandments), Praten over bewustzijn (Talking About Consciousness), Nondualiteit voor managers (Nonduality for Managers) and Verlichting voor luie mensen (Enlightenment for Lazy People). The books are all in Dutch.

thanks for the opportunity to interact with you. In my innocent opinion every living being has species specific consciousness , which is inherent capacity because of the specific gene we carry. And it is with in the frame work of living beings. species specific consciousness is dynamic and illusory process. It should not be mistaken for nonduality which is beyond time & space consciousness and constant.[nithya], nirguna[freefrom all characters] shudda[pure].etc…….I loved to hear your comments.

While it is true that we each carry genes for personality (as seen in twin studies), I don’t see a relationship between genes and nonduality. When we investigate awareness, we find that it is universal in nature, not personal. We find that awareness is primary, and matter secondary, not the other way around. But, again, what does this have to do with genes? Genes may determine many aspects of personality, but they have nothing to do with awareness, which exists only in reference to itself, as pure existence. Genes belong to the limited world of belief in a separate self, where they are valid objects. Nonduality, or awareness, belongs to the unlimited world of reality, in which awareness is aware of all it creates. Just my opinion.

I’ve been looking for it a long time, but I didn’t realise it went by the name of nonduality.
