Jon Schreiber
Breema: The Art of Being Present
"The greatest understanding possible for us is Self-understanding. This understanding is available to us through Conscious energy that we receive when we are present."

From: Every Moment Is Eternal: The Timeless Wisdom of Breema
                                                       —Jon Schreiber

Our thinking mind is incapable of comprehending the timeless nature of reality. The mind thinks in concepts, imagining everything to be outside of itself. (That is the root of our judgmental attitude toward life.) The present moment is the domain of our Being, not our mind.

Breema is a holistic body-based practice that teaches us practical steps we can take to unify the energies of mind, body, and feelings to become present. The philosophy and principles of Breema address the essential nature of life, the deeper meaning of health and how to actualize it, and the means of gaining practical, self-verified knowledge that can lead to an understanding of our unique potential as human beings.

Practicing Breema offers us the possibility of entering the process of disidentification with the idea of ourselves. In the unification of body, mind, and feelings, we receive Conscious energy. With Conscious energy, we can see the reality of things. This is the alchemy that turns lead into gold. Lead is our fragmented, conceptual relationship to life through past and future. Gold is the present moment. www.breema.com

________________________________________________________________________ In this introductory workshop, we practice Breema partner work and Self-Breema exercises as we are introduced to Breema’s Nine Principles of Harmony.

Breema is practiced on a padded floor; participants wear comfortable clothing and socks.

Jon Schreiber Jon Schreiber, D.C., Director of the Breema Center and Breema Clinic in Oakland, California, has been teaching Breema in the U.S. and internationally since 1980. He has presented Breema to interested groups in the fields of medicine, psychology, bodywork, exercise, holistic health, and personal growth. In his active clinical practice, Dr. Schreiber uses Breema, Self-Breema, and the Nine Principles of Harmony to help his patients discover the real meaning of health.

His numerous articles and books focus on the universal and practical philosophy of Breema. Schreiber’s books include: Breema and the Nine Principles of Harmony, Freedom Comes from Understanding, Every Moment Is Eternal, and Freedom Is in This Moment. In his book, Breema and the Nine Principles of Harmony, Schreiber writes: “We’ve been conditioned to never be present. We’re always in the past or future. So we don’t know we exist, and we receive life energy mechanically, without knowing it. We work with Breema and the Nine Principles in order to taste our existence, in order to have new thoughts, new feelings, and a new posture toward life.”
